Welcome

I’m a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist specializing in Christian Therapy – serving Long Beach, CA, Seal Beach, CA, Orange County and Los Angeles County.

Do you find yourself in a crisis of faith? In a depression cloud that doesn’t seem to dissipate? Processing your faith and your struggles with someone who has a strong frame of reference for grief, depression and anxiety is one of the best ways to develop new and stronger coping tools.  Depression is like a cumulus cloud with many smaller clouds emanating from it.  This depression cloud must be dissected and addressed cloud by cloud.  My guidance, from a biblical perspective and principles of scripture, will arm you with the right weapons to obliterate each cloud. Clouds cover the sun. Together, we will process and strip away those depression clouds that block out the Sun/SON.

My Approach

I use an integrative Christian Bible-based approach with Scripture as the basis of Cognitive Behavioral therapy. I select models and interventions that suit the client’s presenting issues and needs. There is no one-size-fits-all method. I customize my approach to the individual client.  I put all the state mandated modalities I’ve been trained in, into a sieve of sorts.  I then hold up all theories to the scrutiny and authority of scripture. If it doesn’t mesh with the Lord’s principles and His Word, it’s not applicable or usable for me.

Having been educated in all the therapeutic modalities and well trained clinically, I’m able to deliver an informed, cohesive and unique method of counseling.

The Power In Words

(A brief look at addiction recovery terminology) Christian professionals need to become more privy to their use of terminology, especially when it comes to mental health. The Cognitive Behavioral approach explores one’s cognitions, thoughts and behaviors and focuses on reframing and replacing negative self-talk — one’s negative thought processes. The therapy target is ANTS (one’s …

Why Christian Therapy?

A common term used among more serious Christians is “religion verses relationship”. I recently heard a radio host describe the perfect analogy for the term. She compared it to wearing requisite regal attire (religion) to wearing jeans and a sweatshirt (relationship with Christ.) The former mode of dress is based on rules; the latter is …
